Easter Basket Donations

For the past few years, the Holy Name School community has generously donated supplies to create Easter baskets for children in need. Last year, we created 150 baskets that children throughout the diocese received. We are reaching out to you in the hopes of assembling Easter baskets to donate again. Please read our Easter baskets letter for more information.

Second Trimester Honor Roll

Congratulations to our students who earned a spot on the honor roll for the second trimester. Please see below for a complete list of students with this honor. We are very proud of you and all of your hard work!

Lenten Stations of the Cross

To be able to share in the Lenten Stations of the Cross devotions is a blessing thanks to our middle school students and Mr. Dacey, Ms. Juszkiewicz, Mr. McNabb, and Mrs. Weldon. Recently, our seventh-grade students lead the entire school. During the week of April 1, we will have our eighth graders leading the school. If you would like to join us for this special Lenten devotion, please feel free to do so; however, we ask that you arrive by 8:20 a.m. The stations should end at 8:45 a.m.

Art Fair Presentations

A special thank you to Ms. Grace for the outstanding art fair presentations. If you were not able to attend the Fall River Parochial Schools Art Fair held at Bishop Connolly High School on March 21, please check out our Facebook page. There were two illustrations from each students' art work, and they were exceptional. Also, five middle school instrumental students shared their talent with those present. Special recognition goes to Ereny Saleb and Krista-Morgan Ferreira from sixth grade, Kaylee Little and Collin Sardinha from seventh grade, and Taylor Rogers from eighth grade. We would like to send congratulations to all.

Pioneer Institute Press Release

An ecumenical and interfaith group of faith-based schools in Massachusetts has formed a coalition called Project Access. This coalition is comprised of not only Catholic schools, but also other Christian and Jewish Day schools.

Project Access's leaders are actively meeting with state government officials to advocate for the provision of school nursing funds in the FY '20 state budget for non-public school students. In the near future, Project Access's leaders will ask the non-public school community for help with reaching out to local state legislators for the purpose of persuading our leaders to support the non-public school community's FY '20 school nursing budget request.

To gain a full understanding of this important state budget request, please read the Pioneer Institute's press release.

Thank you for taking the time to read this recently published white paper and to familiarize yourselves with this important issue!

Absolutely Incredible Kid Day

We certainly have absolutely incredible kids here at Holy Name School, and we cannot wait to honor them on Friday, March 29. We will be serving an ice cream novelty after lunch on Friday. We do realize that some allergies are severe, and you may not want your child to have the treat. Please complete and return our treat permission slip by Thursday, March 28. Thank you for allowing us to share your absolutely incredible kids!

We are taking orders for our 2018-2019 yearbook from March 19 through April 23. The yearbook contains all color pictures and is $28. Please make checks payable to Holy Name School. We will also accept cash, however, it is better to pay by check. Don't miss out on this opportunity to preserve your school memories!
