Holy Name School is a pre-kindergarten through grade eight school committed to providing students with a holistic education rooted in the tradition of the Catholic Church. While academic excellence is at the center of our mission, forming the whole person includes spiritual growth as well. In a safe and nurturing environment, students come to know Christ and glorify his name in all that they do.
Sacraments and Liturgy: Students attend Mass weekly. Reconciliation is offered on a weekly basis as well. Sacramental preparation for First Communion and Reconciliation is also available.
Theology classes: All students take theology class, focusing on students' intellectual formation and understanding of the Faith. All eighth grade students take a weekly theology seminar with the pastor and participate in field trips that expose students to Christian culture and tradition.
Virtues in Practice: Holy Name has a school-wide virtues curriculum. Students learn a specific virtue each month as well as familiarizing themselves with a patron saint who embodies that virtue. These virtues are preached about at weekly Mass. At the end of each month, students who have exemplified this virtue are recognized by the community after weekly Mass.
Classroom Patron Saints: Each grade has a patron saint. The class learns about the life of the saint and celebrates the saint’s feast day.
Prayer Partners: Our middle school students are paired with and serve as role models for our elementary student partners. These partners sit together at Mass, work together on academic projects, and engage in fun activities together.
School Environment: Visuals throughout the school are an important part of teaching the Faith. Religious artwork is used to teach our Christian themes, the life of Christ, and appreciating the beauty and goodness of God’s creation.
